Our BUILD Process
You’ve planned your work, now let us work your plan! Our BUILD services professionals provide construction implementation of our unique designs with top-notch project management and an eye towards maximizing a return on the investment for your urban agriculture project. Working with our BUILD professional you will find them respectful to your needs, responsive to your questions, and be ready to do what it takes to meet the expectations of the project. For each client, our BUILD team will strive to deliver projects of exceptional quality on time and on budget. Our BUILD professionals are a collection of talented individuals that know how to build in Atlanta. While working with other outfits, the members of our BUILD team have cut their teeth on premier projects throughout the Southeast such as the Woodruff Arts Center Greenroof, the Lovett Middle School Greenroof, the Atlanta Botanical Gardens, and the Atlanta History Center. Regardless of budget and complexity, each client is important to us as every job is a reflection of our work and dedication to creating food-producing landscapes in our urban environments.
Some Landscapes that we build:
- Raised Bed Gardens for Schools and Churches
- Herb Gardens for Restaurants
- Row Crop Gardens for Parks
- Greenroof Gardens for Residential and Commercial Buildings
- Corporate Landscapes for Office Parks
- Edible Landscapes for Residential Homes
Our BUILD team can install top-of-the-line commercial grade hardscapes, irrigation systems, and water features for public parks and institutions. But we also do highly customized craft-quality construction for residential environments, restaurants, and other businesses. This includes: landscape masonry for retaining walls and paths; timber framing and custom carpentry for barns, sheds, gazebos, pavilions, and other outbuildings; custom greenhouses; and natural water features. Last, but certainly not least, we perform soil preparation and installation of plant materials with the specialized expertise to support agricultural production. This final point cannot be understated – the horticultural practices of conventional landscaping are insufficient and inappropriate when food production is a priority. Urban Ag, Inc. has the experience to build beautiful gardens and landscapes with a built-in productive capacity to insure an abundant harvest.
Some projects require experts outside of our in-house capabilities. So we have hand picked a select number of contractors with whom we have developed a trusting relationship, we are able to assure the most cost-effective project implementation and greatest attention to detail for our clients.
Some services we include:
- Project Management
- Site Preparation
- Landscape Structures
BUILD materials are important to us and the environment. It is our philosophy to utilize locally-sourced and recycled building materials in our projects as much as possible – reclaimed lumber, stone, native timber, compost and mulch materials, etc. However, because the availability of these materials is highly variable, having a direct relationship with the builder is very important in order to take advantage of these materials as they become available and smoothly incorporate them into current installation projects.
